"Welcome to Bob Egan's humble cyberspace."

Posted December 10, 1999 - During Bob's last solo tour of Canada he was asked by members of Blue Rodeo to join their band. He accepted the offer and is moving to Toronto. He is replacing Kim Deschamps who played pedal steel with the band for seven years. The tour begins mid-January (see schedule below) and will probably continue through August.

Posted August 25, 1999 - Bob had a pretty slow summer as far as touring. "It felt really good to kick back and spend a summer at home in Mississippi. I got some serious relaxing done." This relaxation was interrupted by a few forays out of the south for shows in Toronto ("my new favorite city"), Buffalo, Chicago and of course Norway.

"I flew to Norway in late August for a couple of reasons. First I was invited to play Madrugada's record release party. They are the new rock sensation there - sold 15,000 records the first week! Secondly, I had a weeks worth of shows booked around the Down On the Farm festival. These were a blast! Bazil from Blue Rodeo flew over to play bass with me - so much fun. Near the end of the week Jon Langford (Mekons) showed up so we formed a little punk-country ensemble and played a couple of outrageous shows which involved such things as mooning, steel guitar wars and Bazil singing Me and Paul."

"The third reason for this tour was to meet with my new Scandinavian record company, S2, and hammer out a few details in my new licensing agreement. Soon you'll be able to buy my record in stores in Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland. Greenland is next on my quest for world domination."

The late September tour is a series of solo acoustic shows with a few band shows thrown in (Toronto and Ottawa). Hope to see you out (see schedule below).

Details are shaping up for an October tour of the northeast and Canada with Bob as an opener/sideman with a well-known singer/songwriter. We'll keep you posted on this one.

And look for Bob as the opener/sideman on the November Madrugada tour of theaters in Norway. Schedule will be posted as it becomes available.
